Skull and Bones: How to Survive a Rogue Wave

After many years of development and countless delays, Skull and Bones has finally arrived. While the main danger you'll face in the game is other ships, the ocean itself can also send you down to Davy Jones' locker. While exploring the open ocean area in the middle of Skull and Bones's large Indian Ocean map, the seas will often get rough and occasionally serve up a particularly large “rogue wave,” which can immediately sink your boat and some Items if you don't handle it correctly. This can be a bit panic-inducing, and you'll probably go down the first time you encounter one, but if you know what to do they're not actually that dangerous. Here's how to survive a rogue wave with your ship intact.

Skull and Bones will warn you if a rogue wave is approaching, but it's also pretty obvious – it's a big ass wave! At this point, you have two options.

Option 1 – Just try to maneuver around it. Rogue waves aren't quite as wide as you might think they are, so there's a chance you can just avoid it.

Option 2 – But what if the rogue waves sneak up on you and you don't have the time to get around it? Well, you'll have to go right through that sucker! To survive, you're going to want to be as perpendicular to the wave as possible – in other words, if you think of the wave as a straight line, you want your boat to be at a right angle to it. The idea is to slice right through the wave -- don't let it hit you on your broadside or at an angle. Once the wave hits, brace yourself using the right shoulder button, and you should survive.

And there you go. Again, once you get the hang of it, you should be able to survive most rogue waves, and if you're wrecked occasionally, well, that's just life on the high seas.

Skull and Bones can be played on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5. You can check out Mmoexp's other Skull and Bones guides here and you can Discover some other cheap Skull and Bones Items.
