Path of Exile 2: Ancient Vows Quest Guide
The Ancient Vows quest in Path of Exile 2 can be a bit tricky to navigate, especially when compared to the game's usual straightforward quest progression. You'll encounter this quest during the Act 2 storyline while fighting through the Bone Pits. After defeating an enemy, you will receive the Sun Clan Relic, which starts the quest, but there's very little guidance on what to do next.
In this guide, I'll walk you through how to complete the quest, where to find the second relic, and what to do once you have both.
How to Complete Ancient Vows
Acquiring the Relics:
The Sun Clan Relic is dropped by enemies in the Bone Pits area, which is located after the Mastodon Badlands in Act 2. You'll randomly pick up this relic while progressing through the area, and this will trigger the quest.
The Kabala Clan Relic is the second relic you need. You can acquire it by defeating enemies in Keth and the Lost City—both of which you'll visit during the main story progression.
Finding the Valley of the Titans:
After acquiring both relics, head south on the desert map to find the Valley of the Titans. This area will be unlocked through the main storyline, so if you've already been here, you can fast-travel to the waypoint in the Valley of the Titans.
Once in the Valley, locate the Altar of Medallion. You'll find a staircase leading up to it near the waypoint.
Activating the Relics:
When you approach the altar, an Offering to Amrit banner will appear. This is where you need to complete the quest.
Click on the Medallion icon, and a prompt will appear asking you to place the two relics into the designated slots. Drag both the Sun Clan Relic and Kabala Clan Relic from your inventory into the slots to activate the quest.
Activating the Buffs:
Once you've placed both relics in the Medallion, you will receive two buffs, which can be toggled at any time:
30% increased Charm Charges gained
15% Mana Recovery from Flasks
You can activate either of the two buffs by clicking on them. However, you can only have one active at a time. You can always return to the altar later to switch between the two buffs depending on your needs.
Conclusion
The Ancient Vows quest is an excellent way to get permanent buffs that will help with resource management, particularly for builds that rely on Charm Charges or Mana Flasks. Keep in mind that these buffs are passive and persistent, and you can swap them depending on your build and playstyle.
Once the quest is completed, you'll be well on your way to preparing for tougher challenges in Act 2. Make sure to utilize your POE Currency and PoE items to enhance your gear and make your character even stronger for the trials ahead.
Good luck, Exile! Keep your gear sharp and your skills sharp as you venture further into the world of Path of Exile 2.
