Path of Exile 2: The Queen of Filth

The Queen of Filth is a grotesque giant you'll encounter during Act Three in Path of Exile 2. She bars your way in the Apex of Filth during The Legacy of the Vaal. This boss guide will tell you what to expect when you find her and explain how to defeat her when you do.

Where to find The Queen of Filth

You'll have the pleasure of meeting The Queen of Filth when you happen across her taking a mudbath during Vaal Filth. She holds the Temple Door Idol you'll need to open the Temple of Kopec.

How to beat The Queen of Filth

The Queen of Filth is a tough (and very unpleasant) boss fight. The Queen hits hard and fast and she attacks almost constantly. She covers the field with explosive fungi as well and debuffs that will soften you up for her heavy slam attacks.

The explosive fungi won't damage you when walking over them. Instead, they'll expand, glow brightly, and then explode for burst damage. You can run through them when you need to reposition yourself, but don't stay too long!

The circles the Queen places throughout the map will give you debuffs if you walk through them. Red lowers your armor, purple slows you, and the caustic pools will deal Chaos damage. Avoid them to maintain your speed, defenses, and health.

Throughout the fight, the Queen will summon small waves of minions to join the fight. These are helpful because killing them will help you charge your flasks. They have low health and don't deal much damage, so just take them out quickly to keep your flasks filled.

There are two places on the map where you can get inescapably trapped. The top corners next to the Queen's mudbath are small enough that if she corners you there, you won't get out. Stay out of those places at all costs or the fight will be pretty much over.

It takes a lot of buildup to stun the Queen, but you do have other opportunities. When she casts the debuff circles around the map, she has to stop attacking. During those few seconds, you have a chance to hit her with everything you've got. Take every opportunity you get and keep her close to the center so you have room to maneuver around her for attacks.

The Queen of Filth rewards

The Queen drops a handful of randomized loot, but the real reward is the Temple Door Idol you need to open the door to the Temple of Kopec during Glory of the Vaal.

With a good strategy and proper preparation using your Path of Exile 2 currency and Path of Exile 2 items, the Queen of Filth shouldn't be too much of a challenge. Keep your distance, stay aware of the environment, and capitalize on the moments when she's vulnerable!
